Meet the Artist
Rebecca Bobko is an artist, designer, crafter, maker, and baker based out of Seattle in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She’s inspired by bold colorful patterns, the natural world, her wonderful wife, and two very adventurous babies.
She earned her BFA in Three Dimensional Forum from the University of Washington in 2012, where she primarily studied ceramics and mixed media. A brief detour through the design department offered an introduction to Adobe Illustrator that provided just enough knowledge to be dangerous.
After a decade in nonprofits, her career made a pivot following the birth of her first child. Needing to find her center amidst postpartum depression and anxiety, Rebecca enrolled in Immersion with Bonnie Christine to study surface pattern design.
Rebecca discovered her love of pattern, color, and playful illustration built on her foundational background as an artist. Needing a place to showcase her work, she embarked on her journey into the world of stationery. When describing her vision to friends, she emphatically declared, “I just want to make people happy.” On that day, Happy People Paper Goods began.
Now, her work is available for licensing and can be found on her stationery and through collaborations with brands like Geometry House, Kinder Cloth Diaper Co, and Delta Airlines.
